Sometimes when I sit and look at a blank page I get inspired and write something fabulous.
And then there're days like this.
Sigh.

I have to do a meme. So, for the seven of you who have tagged me, here are the eight random facts you want to know about me.
1. Yes, even though an entire cup of hot chocolate was poured on my phone yesterday it is still working. I am VERY grateful for that.
2. I began blogging over a year ago for a class I was taking. I was registered in a University professional writing course and I needed to submit work to prove I was writing every day. It was from this eight month long assignment that Tired Mama.com was born.
3. I registered www.TiredMama.com about ten years ago as my hubby and I were moving so much that our e-mail address kept changing. And yes, I do get a lot of silly comments when I tell people my e-mail address.
4. I LOVE chocolate peanut butter ice cream but my favorite desert is lemon meringue pie.
5. One of my favorite things to do is sleep until I wake up on my own. That doesn't happen very often any more.
6. I drive a minivan. One day I want to own a BMW two seater CAR and drive it instead.
7. I'm thinking about getting a dog. I've never had a dog for a pet and I think it's an experience I want to have before I die. I think this spring would be a good time for my family to get a dog but my husband still needs some convincing.
8. I am currently enrolled in the fourth year of the Honors English program at York University. I only have three credits left to finish this degree. I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree from when I was a twenty something year old, but since I've always liked to read and talk about books I just kept taking English courses after I graduated.
9. I have been working on this English degree on and off for seventeen years. I think of my classes as a book group with a few writing assignments thrown in.
10.I decided to finish this degree and stop taking courses for the professional writing program (See #2) because I didn't like being in classes with students young enough to be my real kids. Sigh.
The latest friend to guilt tag me writes the blog FeeFiFoto. Visit and learn eight random things about her here. Oh and no, I'm not tagging anyone. But if any of my readers want to blog about eight random things, go for it. I did ten things because that's what happened. Deal with it.
I've also received two awards lately that I haven't posted a thing about. Bad Me.
The first one is from the blog It's Sherendipity. Sher is funny, thoughtful and crazy at times too. Visit her here. Oh, and thanks Sher!
I also got an award from one of the first blogs I ever started to follow, Say Anything. This is one of my blogging friends that I would like to have move onto my street so we could meet every day, chat and drink red wine together. Go and read more about her here and thank you for the award, New Diva.
I'm done now. Have a great weekend.

Look at me - yes, again! I won an Amazon gift card over at Sherendipity's site for being her 1000th commenter. Yes, I'm having a VERY good week.
Thanks Sherendipity.
Now, if you've never visited Sherendipity, head on over there and comment away. Who knows what she'll give away to her 2000th commenter!

Look at me! Look at me!
My blog is all dressed up and fancy!
So, do you like it?
I LOVE it.
I can take absolutely no credit. It's all due to the amazing work of Nicole over at: http://apronstringsaflutter.com/
So, go on over and tell Nicole how much you LOVE my new look and let her know she's a genius.
Oh, and leave a comment here for me too. I love it when I'm told I'm beautiful. Not that this happens often or anything....

My hubby doesn't like to read.
I'm not sure how I married a man who doesn't like to read but I did.
Me? I read. A lot.
As a matter of fact I could fill my review blog with just reviews of books and I actually might do that, one day, when there's lot's of spare time and I don't feel like reading.
Okay, it's probably not going to happen anytime soon.
But, my darling hubby does read my blog. At times it's a little disconcerting as he'll mention something and I'll think to myself, I don't remember telling him that, and then I'll realize I didn't, I blogged it.
He read it.
Oh.
What Hubby says he likes best about my blog is that its stories are so short. He tells me he likes to read short blog posts.
So - here you go sweetie, here's a short post for you and about you too. Double bonus points. Enjoy!

I'm behind.
I have an exam this week and a paper due tomorrow that I've written four, yep FOUR times and I'm still not happy with it.
Sigh.
I'm also behind on blogging. So this is a catch up post.
I've been very honored lately that other Mom bloggers have been talking about me. Nicely too.
I've been given this 'heart award' by Christina at 'My Five Little Monkeys'.
If you've never visited her blog, please go here and give her a read. She's funny, intelligent and she's not afraid to tell it like it is. Life with five kids will do that to you I suspect. I heart her blog too!
I would also like to pass this award on to the bloggers I'm mentioning below, so New Diva on the Blog, Mama Geek and Angie, I'm spreading the love, this little piece of Valentine bling is for you!
I've also been given this 'Excellent' award by two different bloggers. (They like me, they really really like me!)
These people think my blog is excellent. I am seriously blushing here folks! But thank you. I think you're all pretty excellent as well.
So, if you haven't already been to visit Angie at Keep Believing, make sure you do. She's my new hero as she raises two adorable little boys and tries to keep her hubby strong as he battles brain cancer. I personally would be a puddle, but this lady is strong and funny. Pay her a visit here and you'll see what I mean. And Angie, you do keep believing girlfriend - I'm with you.
The other great blog friend who favored me with this 'excellent award' was one of the very first 'bloggy Mom's' I came across when I started posting. I love this blog because 'New Diva' talks about EVERYTHING. I never know what I'm going to find when I go there, but it's always well thought out and a fun read. If you haven't found New Diva on the Blog yet at Say Anything, click right on over there. She's great.
Finally, I want to mention MamaGeek over at What Works for Us. She gave me this award because she finds me amusing. I like that. I have been referred to as a lot of other things but rarely have I been described as amusing. So, go on over and check out this software engineer turned SAHMgineer here. She not only writes well, but she takes really good pictures. She's another great read.
You wanna know what I think is the weirdest thing about this blog world? I could pass any of these ladies on the street and not know them but I read about their lives everyday. The power of language and the blog, it's simply amazing.
Now, I gotta go write this paper that's due tomorrow AGAIN. Anyone know why I've gone back to school? Remind me, please. Sigh.

Some house keeping.
Okay, I get it. You like to READ my blog, but as one friend so eloquently put it, this site 'sucks in terms of looks'. Thanks for that. Still, I have heard and I will try and find someone to help me over the next few weeks. I can do a lot with computers but I am not that hot at decorating with them. I'll keep you posted or better yet, hopefully you'll see some changes soon.
I seem to get a lot of requests to post a picture so people will know what I look like. I suppose I could, I just generally don't like any of the pictures that are taken of me. I'm sort of ordinary looking too which will only add to the 'dullness' of my site layout. I'm thinking about this one - no promises though.
I got an award! I got an award!
I was incredibly honored to receive the:
from Julianne over at "Another Gray Hair'. Julianne's was one of the first 'Mom blogs' that I found and I still read her blog every day. If you haven't clicked on my link and read her blog yet, do it now. She's funny, articulate and has a much more interesting life then I do. Go over and give her blog a read, you'll be glad you clicked.
Now I have to pass this award on, so I'm going to pass it on to Janice at Mom on the Run.
She's another Mom blogger, she's from my area, she's a VERY entertaining read and her kids are much cuter then mine. She has pictures too! So, check her out here at Mom on the Run. Janice, in my books you're a Rockin' Girl Blogger.
Next, do you all realize that you can click on the comments tag at the end of each post and comment on my blogs? I just wondered if you know this as very few of you leave a comment. Please comment, I love getting the feedback. :)
Last, but not least.
ATTENTION! All friends of my children! This blog is not meant for you. Stop reading it. Now. If you don't, oh - I don't know, something bad will happen. Most likely it will be that your parents are going to be mad at me.
I could do without that.

My new blogger friend at http://www.justjanice.ca/cosmogrrl/ posted on her blog that August 31st was 'Blog Day'. I guess I should celebrate it.
Janice also mentioned my blog in her blog (Mom on the Run), so I'm providing you with a link so you can go over and see it. I have no life, so this kind of thing makes me happy.
So...Happy Blog Day!
But really, does anyone else think this is all very silly?
Happy Leanne Day! while we're at it. No, it's not my birthday. But how many other 'days' do we need really? I mean there's enough pressure just keeping up with Christmas....Gesh.
Still check out Janice's blog, she seems very nice, her babies are VERY cute and unlike me she's actually exercising....

I like words. I like to have them around me and I like them to say things that make me happy.
I have the word, 'Indulge' hanging in my kitchen, it is written in silver script and sounds sort of decedent, another word I would like to see in my kitchen.
I recently saw in a magazine how someone had decorated their bedroom by writing in script above their bed, 'Believe love is forever, and forever you'll be in love.' I damn near swooned. For the record I haven't shown the picture to my husband. This is my idea of romantic but Dave would not get it....not even close. Sigh.
My neighbor has,' Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away' written on a sign that is prominently displayed in her back entry way. She has a gorgeous home, which she has obviously decorated with a lot of talent, taste and love, but again it's the words that have stayed with me.
I want to paint on my girl's mirror, "If you can dream it, you can do it." when we redo their bathroom. I want them to see it EVERYDAY before they go out the door. I haven't decided what my son needs to hear daily yet (Kinda tells you something about the day he and I are having). Which leads me to....
About a month ago I saw a sign in a store that I want to buy and put somewhere front and center in my home. It reads, "Be nice or leave." Works for me.
