My oldest daughter is now seventeen and is getting ready to do some traveling for school this fall. To get her ready, we've spent the last few weeks trying to get her paper-work, school needs and health requirements in order.
Last week, at a doctor's visit, it was decided that she should get a chicken pox booster and a Hepatitis A shot before she left the country. So, on Friday, after school, my daughter went to the doctor and got the injections.
A few hours later, her arm was swollen, itchy and very hot.
On Saturday morning, her arm was even more swollen and she was running a fever. (BTW, why do these things always happen on the weekends when my doctor's office is closed?) So, I took her to a walk-in-clinic where they prescribed some antibiotics.
By Sunday morning my daughter's arm looked worse and she felt even poorer, I was feeling like a bad mother for agreeing to the shots for her and so we finally ended up in the ER.
Today, after more antibiotics and some anti-inflammatory drugs she is on the mend.
** Insert huge sigh of relief here. **
And now in EVERY bathroom in my house I have planted one of these:
Yep, Lysol® No-Touch Hand Soap dispensers are now everywhere in my house because their antibacterial hand soap kills 99.9% of bacteria on hands.
And, after this weekend of mulitple doctor and ER visits, we probably dragged home all sorts of weird bacteria. And honestly? I want these stupid bacteria dead.
Dead, dead and really really dead.
Sigh.
Oh, and just in case you want to kill the bacteria that your family is dragging home, Lysol® is giving away 2,500 free Lysol® No-Touch Hand Soap dispensers each week for 5 weeks! Just visit the Lysol® Canada Facebook page here for more details.
