I made a mistake.
I asked my son what he wanted to do this summer. I suggested camps, volunteer work, baseball, soccer and all sorts of things.
But all my son wants to do is play hockey.
Ice hockey.
And where I live there is a lot of hockey available to be played in the summer months.
Which means that now that it is sunny and warm out I am spending my time freezing in cold, smelly dark hockey rinks.
This is sort of how I spend much of the winter months too.
I really have to learn to say 'No' better.
Sigh.
I'm Leanne and I'm a tired mama. I work, I parent, I juggle and I don't seem to get enough sleep. Welcome to the place where I rant about all these things...

Yes, totally understand. The lengths mummies go to. Great job. Hope to see u around

You have my sympathies! You should be out in the sunshine while you can. Winter is so horribly long.

Oh my god ... that's terrible. And what's even worse is that I laughed out loud when I read this ... HAPPY CANADA DAY (you are such a truly Canadian Mom!)

You asked the wrong question. What you SHOULD have asked is "What do you want to do this summer that is NOT ice hockey?" ;)

Awww, sorry! Well, can you wait outside? You can pretend to be on the beach. Put on your shades, pull out a lounge chair in the parking lot and read a good novel or women's magazine. LOL... Just a thought. :)

Oh, man. I'm sorry. Rinks are twice as stanky in the summer.
