I started back to school yesterday.
After last year's slightly frantic schedule I decided to take only two courses this year and since one of them is on-line I only have to drive across the city once a week this term. Yeah me!
I can't believe how much easier things were this year. I know were to go. I know were to sit. I even had two 'young adults' wave at me and ask how my summer was.
I am still the old lady on my University campus though. Everyone else was in baggy jeans and scarves. I was in capri's and a sweater. I forgot to dress down.
I'm entering that 'other world' again. The world of the young, badly dressed and wrinkle free. It's scary there.
Ah well, my professor this year looks to be in her seventies. She's knowledgeable, sharp and I think it's going to be an interesting class.
I think I'm gonna hang out with her. She wasn't wearing baggy jeans either, so I think we can bond.
I'll let you know how that goes.
I'm Leanne and I'm a tired mama. I work, I parent, I juggle and I don't seem to get enough sleep. Welcome to the place where I rant about all these things...

Good for your Leanne. So, what class are you taking?

Hee Hee!! I can't wait to go back to school and be the uncool old lady not wearing baggy jeans.

At least they aren't skinny jeans. I dont think I could sit in the same room with them, if that were the case.
KEEP BELIEVING

At 40 you are a youngster. Enjoy, getting old sucks.
When I go back to school I'll be the old curmudgeon on the corner. A 70 year old prof...cool.

I am so impressed. What are you taking?

Good for you! What classes are you taking this time around?

Coming over from Fannie's. 18 units and I'm 44. I'm a little tired too!

It can be awkward to be the "older" one in classes. My mom went back to school for her MBA when she was 50. But I am a strong advocate for higher ed! What classes are you taking?
